Concepts of control intelligence, classes of intelligent automation tools, levels of intelligence, minimum and rational levels.

In the course of Numerical Methods for the Design of the Engineering Structures and Systems the students learn the mathematical concepts and methods that are used to map the real world to computer models. They also become familiar with the mathematics for the prediction and control of the behaviour of originals by means of computer models. The mathematical models are generalised and unified in such a way that they serve as abstract bases for computer implementations of data bases and computer methods. This knowledge is applied in other courses of the program and in the student research to formulate mathematical models and to implement the corresponding computer models for many types of applications in civil engineering.
