1.1 Objectives

The educational program goals are to develop  personal qualities among students, as well as the formation of competencies in accordance with the requirements of the university in this field. The objective of post graduate study is training to obtain the highest qualification for science, education and national economy in the region determined by the field of training (Clinical medicine «31.06.01» under the profile of "Socially significant infectious diseases") capable of innovation in science, education and management sectors.

Other objectives of the postgraduate training include:

−     formation of skills of independent research and teaching activities;

−     indepth study of  theoretical and methodological foundations of clinical sciences;

−     Improvement of philosophical education, including professional-oriented activities;

−     improving the knowledge of a foreign language, including those focused on professional activities;

−     conducting independently scientific research, presentation of a scientific report;

−     formation of graduates of a high level of professionalism, commitment, organization and diligence.

Following the results of the graduate program, the graduate, along with universal and general professional competences, acquires professional competencies, including the skills necessary for effective research and teaching activities in this field.

The mission of the program is to promote the development of a single research, as well as its integration into the world scientific community.

1.2. Basic information

High education – post graduate - training of high qualified personnel.

The duration for  postgraduate project last for 3 years and 4 years on part-time basis.

The volume of the postgraduate study program is 180 credits and includes all types of auditor, independent and research work of the graduate student, practical training, as well as time devoted to quality assurance of the postgraduate study of the educational program.

The types of professional activities of the graduate are scientific-research activity in the field of infectious diseases and teaching activities on educational programs.

The program is carried out in the medical institute of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Moscow.

1.3. Features of implementation

The use of a modular form of organization of educational activities, based on a modular principle. The curriculum is based on the modular principle that consists of relatively independent parts that form a certain competence or group of competencies in the course program:  Academic discipline; Or a set of disciplines, united by interdisciplinary ties.

Contents of the main educational program Clinical medicine «31.06.01» under the profile of  "Socially significant infectious diseases"  includes the obligatory(basic) and non obligatory part. The curriculum is constructed in the following blocks:

Block 1 Which includes disciplines (modules) relating to the obligatory part of the program and the discipline (modules) related to the non obligatory part. The basic part of Block 1 of the program includes disciplines that are mandatory for the study of postgraduate students of all profiles. The non obligatory part of block 1 is presented as an option to the post graduate student", where 3 of the proposed 4 are electives.

Block 2  Includes medical pedagogical practice, which forms the skills of pedagogical (teaching, educational) and scientific-research activities among students.

Block 3 Scientific Research implies consolidation and deepening of the theoretical preparation of the post graduate student, and acquisition of research skills necessary for working on the text of articles, thesis and abstract, as well as the formation of competences in the field of professional activity in accordance with the requirements of the university in this area of ​​training.

 Block 4 State final certification includes: preparation and delivery of the state examination in the direction and profile of training; And presentation of a scientific report on the main results of the prepared scientific and qualification work (the thesis). "The state final certification is completed by awarding the qualification specified in the list of specialties and directions of higher education, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

LMS and distance education technologies can be applied by implementing the postgraduate program. Also by training disabled people and people with disabilities, LMSand distance education technologies should provide the possibility of receiving and transmitting information in forms accessible to them.

Educational activity under the postgraduate program is carried out in English language, specified local university (RUDN University) act.
